From Academies to Recreation Programs to Overnight Camps, we have a great winter lined out for you! To register, look through this page and “add to cart” all the programs you want to participate in. If you prefer not to pay all at once, follow the check-out directions to be invoiced!

Scholarships: We believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the growth, confidence, and joy of outdoor adventure. Thanks to the generosity of our community members, we have sliding-scale scholarships available based on individual need and program costs, helping keep our programs accessible to all.

    Short-term, specific skills acquisition programming. Examples: Bike Maintenance and Adaptive First Aid & CPR.

Location: Gladstone 24 Hour Fitness 

Expedition Academy Overview: Expedition Academy is a comprehensive, year-long program developed by Adventure Ready NW for qualified students seeking to foster independence in adventure-based programs, daily life, and beyond. With breaks between terms and over the summer, this immersive curriculum focuses on creating a rule of life, self-understanding, and healthy habits related to technology, food, and fitness.

Spring Term Highlights: This six-week program is all about preparing for our mini expedition on Mt. Hood (6/30–7/2) while continuing to build independence and essential life skills. Students will strengthen their healthy habits—including food, fitness, technology use, time management, and daily living tasks—while learning key backpacking skills for the trip.

Topics covered include:
✅ Leave No Trace principles
✅ Setting up tents
✅ Packing a backpack
✅ Backcountry cooking
✅ On-trail navigation
✅ Trip logistics & preparation

This term is fully hands-on and immersive, with students actively packing gear, planning meals, and organizing logistics for the expedition. It’s the perfect opportunity to put together the tools we’ve been developing all year and step confidently into the adventure ahead!

REC: Top Rope 101

Location: Movement Climbing Gym, Portland Oregon

Join us at Movement Climbing Gym in Portland for Top Rope 101, the perfect introduction to indoor climbing! In this class, you'll learn how to tie a figure-eight knot, understand the basic commands used for top rope climbing, and develop skills to read and climb a route on top rope. This is a great opportunity to build confidence on the wall and is highly recommended for those attending Spring Adventure Camp, where we’ll take our climbing skills outdoors in Warm Springs. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to climb!

 
REC: Running 102 Half Marathon

Location: Hazalia Fields, Lake Oswego 

Get ready to tackle the Helvetia Half Marathon with our 6-week training class! This program is designed to help you build endurance, speed, and confidence as you prepare for race day. Each week, we’ll focus on progressively increasing your mileage, while incorporating strength training and injury prevention exercises to keep you strong and healthy. You’ll also receive a take-home training plan to guide your workouts outside of class. By the end of the six weeks, you'll be fully prepared to conquer the Helvetia Half Marathon with confidence and determination!

REC: Pickleball 101

Join us for Pickleball 101, a beginner-friendly class designed to introduce you to the basics of this fun and fast-growing sport! You'll learn the rules, scoring, and fundamental techniques, including serving, volleying, and positioning. Whether you're new to the game or looking to refine your skills, this class will give you the confidence to step onto the court and play. Come ready to move, have fun, and enjoy the game of pickleball!

REC: Biking 095 Glide 2 Ride

Has it been a while since you’ve ridden a bike? Or maybe it’s your first time? Our Biking 095 class is the perfect starting point or refresher. Using our meticulously crafted Glide 2 Ride curriculum—developed by Adventure Ready NW—we’ll guide non-riders from their first pedal to confidently riding independently on two wheels. REC: Biking 102: Skills & Confidence

Learn the art of smooth shifting, tackle fun obstacle courses to boost control and agility, and refresh your knowledge of riding safely and confidently on bike paths. REC: Golf 102 Intermediate Golf Skills

Take your golf skills to the next level with Golf 102! In this class, we’ll continue working on the fundamentals and head out on the course, applying what you've learned. Focus will be on on-course strategy, shot selection, and pace of play while gaining confidence from the Pro Shop to the tee box, fairways to the greens. Whether you're looking to build upon your fundamentals, improve your score or just enjoy a day at the course, this is a great opportunity to refine your skills and develop confidence in a supportive environment!

REC: Spring Conditioning 102

Focused on building both cardio endurance and strength, this class will help you get in shape for the season ahead. REC: Climbing with Friends

Elevate your climbing game and connect with fellow enthusiasts in our Community Climb class! Participants will explore advanced techniques, such as dynamic moves and complex sequences while receiving personalized tips to enhance their performance. This class is open to both ARNW participants, family, and friends, encouraging a collaborative and social atmosphere. REC: Backpack 101 Beginner Backpacking

Get ready to hit the trail with Backpacking 101, a hands-on course designed to build independent backcountry skills! We’ll start with an in-person class at the Oregon City Library on 6/16, where you'll learn the fundamentals of packing a backpack, setting up a tent, Leave No Trace principles, on-trail navigation, backcountry cooking, and more. Then, put your skills to the test on a multi-day field experience from 6/30–7/2, where you’ll gain real-world experience and confidence in the outdoors. Perfect for beginners or those looking to refine their backpacking skills, this course will prepare you for your next adventure!

*Students in Spring Term Expedition Academy, this course is included in registration. ALSO known as REC: Backpacking 101.

Cost Includes: Class portion prior to trip, all needed food and equipment, guide services, transportation and an unforgettable backcountry experience.

Thriving Adventure: Trains and Pizza

Thurs. 4/17, 3-6pm

Join the ARNW community for an evening of history, adventure, and great company! We'll explore the Oregon Rail Heritage Center in Portland, where you can get an up-close look at historic locomotives, learn about Oregon’s rail history, and see restoration work in action. Afterward, we’ll head to Mt. Hood Brewing, where we’ll enjoy delicious pizza served inside a vintage train car. This is the perfect outing for history buffs, train enthusiasts, and anyone who loves good food and great conversation!

Drop off and Pick up is the OMSI parking lot.

 
Thriving Adventure: Dinner & Movie

Thriving Adventure: Mini Golf & Dinner

Join us for a fun-filled evening of mini golf followed by a delicious dinner! Test your putting skills on the course, enjoy some friendly competition, and enjoy a tasty meal at a nearby local spot to round off the night. Thriving Adventure: Spring Family Hike Day

Celebrate the beauty of spring with a family-friendly hike along the Salmon River Trail! We’ll wander through lush forests, take in views of the rushing river, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season. With gentle terrain and plenty of opportunities to explore, this is the perfect way for families to welcome spring and spend a refreshing day outdoors together!

Thriving Adventure: Oregon Coast Exploration Day

Join the ARNW community for a day of exploration along the stunning Oregon Coast! We’ll hike scenic trails, stroll along the beach, and take in breathtaking ocean views. After a full day of adventure, we’ll stop at a favorite local spot for a delicious dinner before heading back to town. This is the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of the coast, good company, and a great meal!

Thriving Adventure: Silver Falls Mountain Biking

Silver Falls is not only home to amazing hiking trails but also some great Mountain Biking!  This Thriving Adventure is for people with previous experience riding off-road with Adventure Ready.  Grab your bike, spare tube, helmet, snacks, and lunch, and let’s hit the trail!

Thriving Adventure: Smith Rock Hike & Dinner Day

Join the ARNW community for an unforgettable adventure at Smith Rock State Park! We'll tackle the Misery Ridge and Summit Loop Trail, taking in breathtaking views of towering rock formations and the winding Crooked River. After our exhilarating hike, we’ll head to our favorite post-adventure spot, Zig Zag Inn, for a well-earned meal. This is sure to be an incredible day filled with stunning scenery, great company, and delicious food!

Bike Maintenance: Spring Term Ride Ready & Community Dinner

Thurs. 5/8, 3-7pm

Before you ride you need to get your bike tuned up! ARNW will provide you with all the tools, cleaning materials, and how-to! Bring your bike we will work through all the major components of your bike. We’ll fully wash, grease, and tune up our bikes for optimal performance. After we are done we will have dinner together!

Want to bring a second bike to get tuned up and inspected, just pick that option below.

Spring Adventure Camp

Camp Location: Warm Springs

Join us for an unforgettable adventure in Warm Springs! This camp is all about exploring the outdoors as we go top-rope climbing, hiking, and kayaking in a stunning natural setting. After days full of adventure, we’ll unwind under the stars, sharing stories and making memories. Don’t miss this chance to challenge yourself, connect with nature, and have an amazing time with friends!

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive, set up camp, and enjoy dinner together.
Day 2: Hike, top-rope climb, and explore the stunning landscape, with a chance to cool off in the creek.
Day 3: Kayak on Lake Simtustus before heading home.

Cost Includes: All camping gear, food, equipment, guide services, and transportation are provided—just bring your sense of adventure!
